Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a children's acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of NICU and/or PICU experience.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Care/RRT department at a Level I trauma children's acute care hospital
- Patient population includes NICU, PICU, and pediatric critical care patients
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- No floating outside of scope required
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Performs ventilator management, airway management, medication delivery, and ABG interpretation
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory Care
- NICU and/or PICU experience required
- BLS and RRT certifications required
- NRP and PALS certifications preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Skilled in ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, and high frequency oscillator
- Experience with airway management including intubation/extubation assist, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and high-risk delivery assistance
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care services to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients in a Level I trauma children's hospital setting
- Work within a teaching hospital environment
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Scrub color is flexible or facility-branded apparel may be worn
- Facial hair must allow for proper respiratory fit testing
- Local candidates are not accepted within a 75-mile radius
- Standard travelers may stay for up to 18 months with a required 3-month break in service afterward
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to this facility as a traveler
- RTO is limited to 2 requests, with no time off allowed during the first week of the assignment
