Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a maternity float pool position requiring intermediate AWHONN certification and Epic experience.

- ;Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- Assigned to a maternity float pool covering both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (3x12 schedules also considered)
- 36 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday required
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations, must be able to work all 7 days
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active MA RN license (permanent or conditional/temp) required, pending applicants may be submitted
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Intermediate certification or higher required
- 3 years of experience strongly preferred; 1-2+ years considered with travel experience
- First-time travelers considered if coming from a teaching hospital with required teaching hospital experience
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
- Experience with labor and delivery management including high-risk delivery, vaginal delivery, C-section circulation, and hemorrhage/shock response
- Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
- Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, and insulin drips
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum units
- Responsibilities include assisting with vaginal and C-section deliveries, neonatal care in the delivery room, and postpartum care
- Must complete pass/fail medication exam and telemetry exam during orientation, each with one attempt; failure results in contract cancellation
- Study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
- Up to 14 days of RTO can be submitted for review; no RTO allowed during the first week
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Candidates must reside within a 200-mile radius of the facility
