Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of ER experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Unit includes ambulance triage, ED holding, lobby triage, 11 hallway beds and 29 additional beds for a total of 40 beds
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Care includes breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, procedural sedation, RSI, trach care, ventilator management, blood/blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blankets, CRRT/dialysis, 12-lead EKG, and rapid infuser use
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to different campuses required
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level II or III Trauma experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills in respiratory care, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, and procedural sedation
• Experience with neurological emergencies including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with orthopedic and ortho trauma cases
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and orthopedic cases
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Non-holiday time off requests should be limited to 5 days or fewer per contract, with time added to the end of the assignment
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for local candidate consideration
• Former permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for this travel position
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• All travelers are expected to float between sister facilities as needed
