Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift hospital position requiring 1.5+ years of experience and NJ or Compact licensure.
Details
- Hospital-based Respiratory Care / Respiratory Therapy unit
- Adult and pediatric patient mix
- Performs blood gas analysis, vent/BiPAP/high flow initiation and management, code response, in-house transport, medication administration, and chest PT
- Uses Servo I & U and V60 BiPAP equipment
- Utilizes EPIC charting system
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend requirement of every other weekend (Fri/Sat)
- Floats between PICU, ED, and adult critical care, with possible additional units based on skill set and hospital needs
Requirements
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- PICU/NICU experience highly preferred
- Active NJ or Compact license required
- BLS and NBRC certification required
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications highly preferred, though travelers may obtain onsite
- Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Experience with oxygen therapy delivery methods including HFNC, bag and mask, and ET tube
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Candidates required to float within their skillset with no exceptions
- Previous RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year to be eligible for travel assignments
- All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to offer acceptance
- Time off requests after an offer has been made will not be accommodated
- Availability required for 2 of 3 major holidays unless otherwise specified
