Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring 3+ years of OR experience with strong scrub and circulate skills.

Details

• Operating Room department within a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Evening shift schedule (5x8 hours, 15:00-23:30)
• On-call requirement of 8-12 hours per month
• May float between two connected campus locations within the health system
• Case types include ortho trauma and spine, neuro/craniotomy for tumor, robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi, SP), bariatrics (gastric sleeve and bypass), and benign/oncologic gynecology and general surgery
• Robotic surgery systems used include Da Vinci Xi, Da Vinci SP
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Float assignments include patient ratios based on acuity when floated

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
• Scrub and circulate experience highly preferred
• Strong trauma surgery skills required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred but not required
• Must float within skillset as required
• References required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Level 1 Trauma Center environment with a wide variety of surgical specialties including vascular, cardiovascular, neurology, orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, thoracic, and transplant cases
• Scrubs provided
• Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former RWJBH staff must have separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
• Block scheduling is not approved for this position
• Contract with this facility is expected to be the traveler's primary work assignment
