Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring 3+ years of OR experience with strong scrub and circulate skills.
Details
- Operating Room department within a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Evening shift schedule (5x8 hours, 15:00-23:30)
- On-call requirement of 8-12 hours per month
- May float between two connected campus locations within the health system
- Case types include ortho trauma and spine, neuro/craniotomy for tumor, robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi, SP), bariatrics (gastric sleeve and bypass), and benign/oncologic gynecology and general surgery
- Robotic surgery systems used include Da Vinci Xi, Da Vinci SP
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Float assignments include patient ratios based on acuity when floated
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- CNOR certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
- Scrub and circulate experience highly preferred
- Strong trauma surgery skills required
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Travel experience preferred but not required
- Must float within skillset as required
- References required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Level 1 Trauma Center environment with a wide variety of surgical specialties including vascular, cardiovascular, neurology, orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, thoracic, and transplant cases
- Scrubs provided
- Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former RWJBH staff must have separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
- Block scheduling is not approved for this position
- Contract with this facility is expected to be the traveler's primary work assignment
