Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital position requiring inpatient case management experience and either travel or Epic experience.

  • an acute care teaching hospital setting
  • Case Management/Utilization Review department
  • Day shift schedule with 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Required to work every 4th weekend
  • Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
  • Floating required within scope of practice as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (VA or Compact) required, pending licenses accepted if in hand by the Wednesday before start date
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care inpatient case management experience required
  • Epic EMR experience or previous travel nursing experience required
  • BSN preferred
  • BLS certification preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I or Level II hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment, DME ordering, and plan of care
  • Medical-Surgical acute care specialty experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment, DME ordering, and developing plans of care
  • Up to 40 hours of RTO may be approved per contract, with all time off disclosed at the time of consideration
  • Any vacation time planned between offer acceptance and start date should be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
  • Specialty-specific orientation modules will be completed during onboarding
  • Selected units maintain a 50-mile travel restriction limiting eligibility for local candidates
  • Previous employment with the facility as permanent staff or an internal/external traveler requires a minimum 1-year separation period and leadership approval
  • External travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility and are not eligible to return once this threshold is reached
  • Longer assignment lengths may be available
