Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring 3 years of recent telemetry experience and Level 1 Trauma experience.
Details
- Work in the Telemetry unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required if needed
- Float to other telemetry floors as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active FL or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS via AHA
- Minimum 3 years of recent telemetry experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months required if degree is from an FBON-approved institution
- Degree from an accredited nursing school required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management, management of drips, peripheral line care/management, central line care/management, blood product administration, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening required, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response for a cardiovascular patient population including post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery cases
- Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
- Smoke-free facility
- Local candidates considered within a 60-mile radius at a lower rate than travel positions
- Former Broward Health permanent employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Candidates from Operation Nightingale Schools are not accepted
- Must pass a basic arrhythmia assessment, with a retake exam available within 24 hours if needed
