Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring 3 years of recent Level 1 Trauma/telemetry experience and an active FL or compact license.
Details
- 13-week assignment in the Telemetry unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Holiday coverage required if needed
- Must be willing to float to other telemetry floors as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Patient population includes cardiovascular, post-MI, and pre/post cardiac cath and surgery cases
Requirements
- Active FL or compact RN license required in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS via AHA
- Minimum 3 years of recent Level 1 Trauma/telemetry experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Degree from an accredited school required, or a degree from an FBON-approved institution plus 2 years of consecutive recent acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months
- Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management, management of cardiac drips (no titration), peripheral line care/management, central line care/management, blood product administration, and isolation precaution/PPE
- Successful completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening required, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response, rapid response/code team utilization, and management of cardiovascular patients
- Must pass a basic arrhythmia/EKG assessment, with a retake exam available if a passing score is not achieved initially
- Smoke-free facility
- Locals within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a lower rate than travel positions
- Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools are not accepted
- First-time travelers are not required for this role
