Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring 3 years of recent Level 1 Trauma/telemetry experience and an active FL or compact license.

Details

• 13-week assignment in the Telemetry unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday coverage required if needed
• Must be willing to float to other telemetry floors as needed
• Uses Epic EMR
• Patient population includes cardiovascular, post-MI, and pre/post cardiac cath and surgery cases

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS via AHA
• Minimum 3 years of recent Level 1 Trauma/telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Degree from an accredited school required, or a degree from an FBON-approved institution plus 2 years of consecutive recent acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months
• Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management, management of cardiac drips (no titration), peripheral line care/management, central line care/management, blood product administration, and isolation precaution/PPE
• Successful completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening required, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response, rapid response/code team utilization, and management of cardiovascular patients
• Must pass a basic arrhythmia/EKG assessment, with a retake exam available if a passing score is not achieved initially
• Smoke-free facility
• Locals within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a lower rate than travel positions
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools are not accepted
• First-time travelers are not required for this role
