Description

American Traveler seeks a Speech Pathologist with an active SLP license and 1+ year of experience for a rehab/ortho hospital setting.

• Hospital-based Physical Therapy Rehab - Ortho unit
• Provides services to patients with speech and language disorders
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts, 4 days per week
• 32 hours per week
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience, preferably in a medical or clinic setting
• Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association that will not expire prior to start
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Manual dexterity for operating equipment and frequent computer use
• Critical thinking, decision-making, and time management skills
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record if driving is required for the role

Additional Information

• Participate in developing speech therapy plans of care for patients
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to evaluate functioning and communication ability
• Communicate with physicians before starting care and as needed throughout treatment
• Implement individualized care plans
• Provide education and instruction to team members, patients, and families
• Document care accurately and timely to maintain patient medical records
• Returning employees must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
