Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele-PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule alternating between 3x12 hours and 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Rotating 36/48 schedule totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license in hand required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current MS/Tele-PCU experience required
• 2 professional references required: 1 Charge or Higher and 1 Supervisor, both completed within the last year
• Copy of certifications required for consideration
• Driver's license required with address matching permanent address
• Middle name required for consideration or confirmation if none exists

Additional Information

• Provide care for patients requiring cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV therapy
• Skills may include central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and wound care
• Experience with respiratory support such as BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula is utilized
• Care for neurological and cardiovascular patients including CVA, post-TPA care, and post-MI/cardiac cath patients
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
• Up to 7 days of RTO will be considered and must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted
• Must work either a major or minor holiday for every holiday
• Traveler pairs are accepted on a limited basis and will not be placed on the same shift or unit
• Travelers may only submit to one position at a time
• After working one year, travelers must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
• Any license hits or background check issues must be disclosed upfront
• Assignment confirmation must be signed within 24 hours of an offer
• Orientation occurs on a bi-weekly basis
