Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of specialty experience for a night shift hospital position.
Details
- Work in a hospital Respiratory Therapy department
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts
- 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
- 13-week assignment
- May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
- May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT)
- Current Respiratory Therapy license in state of practice required, if applicable
- BLS certification required (AHA, not expiring prior to start)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty being applied for
- Epic charting experience
Additional Information
- Provide advanced-level respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary deficiencies per physician orders
- Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing procedures including obtaining arterial gases
- Oversee and troubleshoot respiratory equipment for optimal patient care
- Initiate respiratory protocols and interventions based on patient assessments
- Administer medications and evaluate patient response according to protocol
- Communicate patient progress with physicians, nurses, and other departments
- Educate patients and families on self-care techniques and health promotion
- Complete documentation according to departmental standards and monitor supplies/equipment
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for process improvement
- Act as a resource, consultant, and mentor to CRT staff
- Participate in quality improvement and research activities as part of the Respiratory Care Team
- Permanent staff must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
