Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of specialty experience for a night shift hospital position.

Details

• Work in a hospital Respiratory Therapy department
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
• May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT)
• Current Respiratory Therapy license in state of practice required, if applicable
• BLS certification required (AHA, not expiring prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty being applied for
• Epic charting experience

Additional Information

• Provide advanced-level respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary deficiencies per physician orders
• Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing procedures including obtaining arterial gases
• Oversee and troubleshoot respiratory equipment for optimal patient care
• Initiate respiratory protocols and interventions based on patient assessments
• Administer medications and evaluate patient response according to protocol
• Communicate patient progress with physicians, nurses, and other departments
• Educate patients and families on self-care techniques and health promotion
• Complete documentation according to departmental standards and monitor supplies/equipment
• Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for process improvement
• Act as a resource, consultant, and mentor to CRT staff
• Participate in quality improvement and research activities as part of the Respiratory Care Team
• Permanent staff must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
