Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist specializing in Breast Imaging with 3+ years of departmental clinical experience and prior travel experience required.
Details
- Imaging department setting focused on breast ultrasound
- Performs breast imaging, diagnostics, biopsies, and whole breast ultrasound exams
- 5x8-hour shifts with rotating days and varied shift times, which may include weekends
- No call requirements
- May be required to float to other areas within competency level based on organizational needs
- May be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts depending on department needs
- Uses Epic for EMR charting
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in breast imaging required
- Prior travel experience of at least one 13-week assignment required
- Active registry with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS or RVS) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS, RVT, or RDCS)
- License required if applicable
- AHA BLS certification required upon hire
- Must be able to provide care for patients ranging from infant to geriatric populations
- Proficiency in operating diagnostic ultrasound imaging equipment required
Additional Information
- Work at the region's only Level II Trauma Center, treating over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually
- Perform complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the general direction of a physician and department supervisor
- May perform invasive techniques such as biopsy procedures according to policy
- Responsibilities may include mentoring ultrasound students from CAAHEP programs on departmental protocols and equipment operation
- Participate in accreditation and re-accreditation processes for the department
- Additional duties may include equipment maintenance and safety checks such as code blue carts and eye wash stations
- Facility may cancel shifts with 48 hours notice for low census, which may include full or partial shifts
- Minimum coverage of 2 major holidays required
- Candidates must live 60+ miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- A 13-week break is required for returning travelers after completing a contract
