Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool RN with 2+ years of acute care and travel nursing experience to float between 8 units on a rotating shift and every-other-weekend schedule.

Details

• Float pool position covering 8 different Med/Surg Tele areas within the hospital, including Davenport 5, 7, 8, and 9, the ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, and Overflow units
• Hospital has a 371 bed count with unit census ranging from 8 to 41 beds
• Patient population includes ED boarder patients, medication administration in the acute mental health unit, and non-vented, transfer-ready ICU patients
• Clinician to patient ratio is up to 5:1 on days and evenings and up to 6:1 on nights
• Schedule is 36 or 48 hours per week, rotating through days, evenings, and nights
• Requires working every other weekend
• Requires 1 to 3 rotations to night shift per contract
• Uses Epic EMR
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single location required
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a travel nurse required
• Telemetry monitoring experience required, including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours
• TR Band experience required
• Experience performing cardiac drips and reading tele strips required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, administering cardiac drips, and reading telemetry strips
• Must be willing to float between 8 different Med/Surg Tele units as needed
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the hospital are accepted at a reduced rate
• RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration
