Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Main Operating Room position requiring Level 1/2 Trauma experience and Scrub/Circulator skills on a 4x10 Days schedule.
Details
- Main OR setting within a hospital that includes Main OR (22 beds), ASC (8 beds), and Ortho (10 beds) units
- Patient population ranges from outpatient to critical care inpatient surgical cases
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Utilizes various OR equipment including the DaVinci robotic surgical system
- EPIC EMR system used
- Days shift, 4x10 schedule from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Weekend hours required as needed by facility
- Float requirements as needed by facility
- Call requirements include any scheduled day, averaging 5 or fewer calls per 8 weeks
Requirements
- Active RN license eligible for Missouri licensure or current MO/compact RN license
- BLS certification from AHA required
- Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience required; teaching hospital experience will be considered
- Scrub and OR Circulator experience required
- At least 1 year of Interventional Vascular experience required
- Competency in conscious sedation required
- Level 1 Trauma experience with multiple years preferred
- Highly motivated, self-starter personality preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs, and perform minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1, with no declinations accepted
Additional Information
- Assist Vascular Surgeons in the OR and Hybrid Imaging suite
- Work collaboratively with a team of nurses and surgical techs on Endo and Open surgical cases
- Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
- Maintain professional accountability and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other hospital departments
- Black scrub color required; jeans and unprofessional attire not permitted
- Facility is a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center
- First-time travelers may be considered given required experience is met
