Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of postpartum experience and Epic proficiency.

• Hospital-based Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• May float to units of similar acuity
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of postpartum experience required
• IV start skills and labor & delivery (L&D) experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive postpartum and couplet care including fundus/lochia/perineum assessment, cesarean section recovery, and vaginal delivery care
• Administer medications including antihypertensives, Pitocin, and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Perform newborn care including cord care, newborn assessment, phototherapy, and discharge teaching to parents
• Care for newborns with conditions such as hypoglycemia, low birth weight, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Level 1 Nursery experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with contract request and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
