Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical Med/Surg unit position requiring an active IL RN license and at least three years of relevant nursing experience.
Details
- Work on a Surgical Medical/Surgical unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
- Weekend and holiday shifts on a rotating basis
- May float to other Carle Health facilities including Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and Carle Health Proctor Hospital
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Strong critical thinking and independent judgement skills required
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Basic computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers
- Demonstrated multicultural sensitivity
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team using the nursing process
- Assess patient status, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress throughout each shift
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care from admission through discharge
- Perform bedside lab testing and quality control in compliance with hospital policies
- Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with physicians and team members
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility as no local candidates will be considered
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
- Candidates must take a 6-month break in service after 1 year of continuous assignment at Carle Health before returning
