Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Infusion position requiring NJ or Compact licensure and Chemo certification for oncology patient care.

Details

Outpatient clinic setting within an infusion/oncology center
Patient ratios of 1:6-7
Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM-5:30 PM)
Required to work 1 Saturday per month, with no Sunday shifts
Floating required between the cancer center and main campus for appropriate assignments
Uses Epic charting system
Any scrub color accepted

Requirements

Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
BLS certification required
Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
Minimum 1 year of experience in Outpatient Infusion or Oncology (Chemo Certified) required
Experience administering chemotherapy via IV push, continuous infusion, and oral routes
Skilled in biotherapy and immunotherapy administration
Experience monitoring and managing chemotherapy-related symptoms including nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, edema, and altered mental status
Central line care and blood draw experience required
Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
Phlebotomy skills preferred

Additional Information

Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, monitoring patients for treatment-related symptoms, and providing patient/family education and psychosocial support
Provide symptom management for conditions such as dysphagia, constipation/diarrhea, and skin/mucous membrane alterations
Support discussions around withholding or withdrawing treatment as part of oncology care
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
Previous RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for this travel assignment
Must be available to work 2 of 3 designated holidays
