Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring KS or compact licensure and 2+ years of L&D experience.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed LDRP unit with a 4-bed GYN/Post-op area, 14 well-baby beds, and 3 Special Care Nursery beds
• Unit delivers approximately 900 babies per year supported by 2 OB/GYN physicians and 3 pediatricians
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Occasional floating to Med-Surg, ICU, and ER expected (2-3 times during a 13-week contract)
• Block scheduling may be considered

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP required; AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required (3-4 years preferred)
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills required: Labor and Delivery management, fetal monitoring, recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, use of external fetal monitoring, antepartum care and procedures, and triage of obstetrical patients
• Circulating for C-section preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care including antepartum procedures and obstetrical triage
• Must reside within an 80-mile radius of the facility, though local candidates are accepted at a lower rate

• Previous travel experience is not required
