Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a MA RN license and prior travel experience.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- General ED unit treating combined adult and pediatric patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- 36 hours per week, night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7pm-7:30am
- No on-call responsibilities
- No floating requirement
- Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
- Uses Omnicell and Meditech systems
Requirements
- Active MA RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of ED experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Meditech charting system experience preferred
- Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure preferred
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acute presentations including psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and orthopedic cases
- Unit does not accept first-time travelers
- Candidates residing within 30 miles are accepted at the same rate
- 12-hour on-unit orientation with additional hospital orientation provided
- Scrubs of any color are permitted
- Expect to work some holidays
- Keep time off requests to a minimum, especially during the first two weeks of the assignment or as full calendar weeks off
