Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with critical care, trauma, and neuro experience for a high acuity Respiratory Care Unit position requiring an active FL or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Respiratory Care Unit, a high acuity stepdown ICU setting
• Patient ratio is 3:1, with a maximum of 4:1 depending on staffing
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating required as needed
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Travel pairs will not be considered

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years of recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
• Trauma and neuro experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Degree must be from an accredited school, or from an FBON-approved institution with 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale Schools will not be accepted
• Charge RN, SICU, MICU, trauma, and stroke experience preferred
• Cerner experience preferred

• Provide critical care nursing to high acuity patients requiring ventilator support in a stepdown ICU setting
• Facility is a smoke-free environment
• Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a lower pay rate
• Former Broward Health permanent employees must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must complete a pass/fail EKG and basic arrhythmia assessment as part of onboarding for this critical care area
