Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/PCU night shift position requiring an active PA or Compact RN license and at least one year of telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in the PCU/Telemetry unit of a hospital environment
• Cardiac telemetry patient population requiring cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• 13-week assignment length
• Any charting/EMR system experience required; Cerner experience preferred
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Every other holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry/PCU nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiac drips, thrombolytic agents, and heparin protocols (no titration)
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• SSN, DOB, and RTO required for consideration
• Two supervisor references preferred

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
• Care for patients with conditions such as CVA, post-TPA care, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, and traumatic brain injury
• Support post-cardiac catheterization, post-cardiac surgery, and total joint replacement patients
• Must be willing to float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed

• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed shortly after signing
• All compliance requirements must be cleared prior to the start date
