Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a WA or compact RN license and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department setting with Ambulance Triage, ED Holding, and Lobby Triage
- Unit includes 11 hallway beds and 29 regular beds for a total of 40 beds
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- Floating to different campuses required
- Schedule posted every 6 weeks with shift start times of 0700, 0900, 1200, 1500, and 1900
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Charge RN experience preferred
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilated patients
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
- Experience with neurological emergencies including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain/spinal cord injury
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and ortho trauma
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include care for typical ED patient population including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
- Utilizes advanced ED equipment including rapid infusers, cooling/warming blankets, chest tube setup, and CRRT/dialysis
- Performs procedures such as RSI, cardioversion/defibrillation, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Non-holiday requested time off is limited to 5 days per week added to the end of the contract, with additional time off subject to manager approval
- Former permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius may be accepted at a lower bill rate
