Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an ER Holding position on night shift, requiring 2 years of ER experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• ER Holding unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with ER background required
• Additional experience in ER holding, observation, MS/Tele, Tele, or PCU/Stepdown required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care within the ER Holding unit, managing patients awaiting inpatient bed placement
• Skills utilized may include IV therapy, central/PICC line care, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation), cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
• Familiarity with rapid response/code team protocols expected
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former employees eligible for assignment only after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for this traveler role
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to submission, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing to remain compliant with start date requirements
