Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med-Surg/Telemetry PCU night shift position at an academic teaching hospital, requiring prior travel experience and an active compact or Ohio RN license.

Details

• Stepdown/PCU mixed-acuity unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with general chronic medical conditions
• 36 hours/week on night shift (3x12, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Some weekends required
• Floating within the OSU health system required
• On-call required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active compact or Ohio RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and respiratory support skills such as BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide care to progressive care patients including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response coordination
• Complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Current OSU hospital employees are ineligible for this position
• Former employees eligible after 6 months away from the facility
• Requested RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
