Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with ARRT registration and BLS certification for a 13-week hospital assignment.

Details

• Hospital-based MRI department setting
• 13-week assignment with Thursday/Friday shifts from 0800-2030 and Saturday shifts from 0730-2000
• 40 hours per week across 5 days
• One day of call per week required
• May float to a sister hospital nearby
• Uses Cerner for charting

Requirements

• Current ARRT registration required
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required
• Active SC or compact license required if applicable
• Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals
• Cross-sectional anatomy or MRI experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, and lift/move patients
• Must be able to intermittently lift, move, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
• Frequent exposure to radiation and possible exposure to infectious materials and blood-borne pathogens

Additional Information

• Perform MRI procedures under the medical supervision of certified radiologists following established protocols
• Assist radiologists with procedures as needed
• Supervise student MRI Technologists assigned to them
• Instruct and prepare patients regarding imaging procedures and assist in obtaining informed consent
• Communicate with family members regarding discharge instructions
• Ensure correct orders, diagnosis, and clinical history are entered into the computer system
• Adhere to hospital and departmental safety policies including radiation protection and ALARA principles
• Must maintain a professional, business-like appearance and strict confidentiality of work-related information
• May be required to work weekends and holidays based on department needs
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• Travelers may stay on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date, followed by a required 30-60 day break before returning to a new assignment
