Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years of OR experience and a valid OH or compact RN license.

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting supporting Same Day Surgery
• 13-week contract assignment
• Day shift schedule (4x10 hours), 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• Shift length is 36 or 40 hours per week
• No on-call responsibilities, but late days are required
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with a variety of surgical specialties including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, urology, ENT, plastics, and bariatrics preferred
• Proficiency in circulating and scrub duties for OR procedures
• Skills in patient monitoring, infection control, and emergency management procedures preferred
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care in a same day surgery setting, including scrub and circulating duties across multiple surgical specialties
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract, as this is a time-sensitive credentialing step
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of consideration, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees of the facility are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away for 6 months or more
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible to be hired as travelers at any of its Ohio hospital locations
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
