Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring a PA or Compact RN license and prior critical care experience.

Details

• Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Shift options include Nights (3x12, 19:00-7:00) or Days (3x12, 7:00-19:00)
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line care/management, PICC line management, and arterial line management
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Experience titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips, and administering continuous IV sedation
• Neurological care skills including ICP monitoring, EVD management, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and management of acute/chronic renal failure
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

• Provide critical care nursing to a medically complex ICU patient population
• Required to work every other holiday
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
