Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a compact or PA RN license, 2+ years of L&D experience, and Epic charting experience.
Details
- Community hospital Labor and Delivery unit setting
- Cares for antepartum, L&D, LDRP, Level I Nursery, low-risk, and mother/baby patient populations
- Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 7pm-7am
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Blocked schedule option available
- On-call requirement of 3 12-hour call shifts per 6-week period
- Holiday coverage as needed
- Floating as needed
- May care for COVID-19 patients
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or PA) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (preferred), and NRP required; AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skilled in fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and IUPC placement
- Experience with high-risk OB conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, PPROM, and preterm labor
- Experience managing labor and delivery complications including hemorrhage, VBAC, and malpresentations
- Experience with postpartum care including couplet care and cesarean section recovery
- Charge nurse experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation, and newborn care in the delivery room
- Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
- Support breastfeeding and lactation, and provide discharge teaching to new parents
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered at a reduced rate
- Travel pairs may be submitted, though matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
