Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an ER Holding position requiring 2 years of ED experience, 1 year of travel experience, and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Cancer hospital setting within the Emergency Department Onc Pod (ER Holding unit)
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• 13-week assignment
• Floating required
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and pediatric care
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second may be a Charge RN (no coworker references accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide emergency and oncology-focused nursing care within the ER Holding/Onc Pod unit
• Responsibilities include IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care/management
• Skilled in administration of emergency medications and IV vasopressors
• Familiarity with BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract at time of application, limited to 7 consecutive days
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this health system
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict credentialing timelines
