Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level III NICU position requiring 5 years of NICU RN experience and a MT or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the NICU of a hospital environment, with additional exposure to Pediatrics and PICU services
- Level III NICU caring for neonates across gestational ages, including those under 24-28 weeks
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-07:30
- On-call requirement of up to 4 call shifts within an 8-week period
- Floating primarily within the Pediatrics and NICU service line, with potential to float to other units as a 1:1 safety sitter
Requirements
- Active RN license (MT State or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of prior NICU RN experience required
- Level III NICU experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and administration of blood and blood products
- Experience with UAC/UVC lines, neonatal dosage calculations, and emergency/anti-seizure medications
- Competency in APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and developmental care
- Respiratory skills including ventilator management, high flow nasal cannula, and suctioning
- References required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care to neonates ranging from under 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
- Attend high-risk deliveries as part of care team responsibilities
- Scrubs are provided
- Must reside 75+ miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Former permanent employees must have a 2-year break in service before being eligible
