Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN with Level III NICU experience and Cerner charting proficiency for a 13-week travel assignment
Details
- Work in a Level III NICU within a hospital setting caring for neonates ranging from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
- Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Call requirement of up to 4 call shifts within an 8-week period
- Floating primarily within the Pediatrics and NICU service line, with potential to float to any unit as a 1:1 safety sitter
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (MT state or compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and NRP required, PALS preferred
- Minimum 5 years of prior NICU RN experience required
- Level III NICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, central line blood draw, starting and maintaining IVs, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
- Experience with high-risk delivery attendance, APGAR scoring, developmental care, thermoregulation, and neonatal abstinence syndrome required
- Respiratory skills required including bubble CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, suctioning, and ventilator management
- References required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide high-acuity nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU setting
- Responsibilities include feedings, phototherapy, blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and infection control precautions
- Scrubs provided
- Must reside 75+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position; local candidates will not be accepted
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Previous permanent employees of the facility must have a 2-year break in employment before eligibility
