Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level III NICU position requiring 2+ years of NICU experience and open to first-time travelers.
Details
- Work in a Level III NICU at a regional trauma center
- Also requires skill and experience to work in a Level II regional trauma center setting
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Weekend work required every other weekend per CBA
- May float between departments internally and must be flexible
- Patient ratios dependent on hospital acuity
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required in a Level III or IV NICU
- Washington state RRT license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and CRT or RRT
- Epic EMR experience required
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Experience with high frequency jet ventilator, oscillating ventilator, and pressure/volume ventilator preferred
- Experience with direct neonatal intubation and umbilical blood gases preferred
- Must be able to work independently and autonomously within a Level III NICU
- Two supervisory references required covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Provide respiratory care to neonatal patients including high-risk delivery support and ventilator management
- All staff, including full-time employees, are considered variable staff for the unit
- Exact shift assignment (day or night) is typically confirmed one to two weeks in advance
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and cannot be within 50 miles of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
