Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist for a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of cath lab experience and ARRT or RCIS certification.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with 562 staffed beds
- Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab unit
- 4x12 or 3x12 day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Will work 2-3 weekends per contract
- On-call required as needed, rotating with staff and agency, with a dedicated call team
- No floating required outside of scope
- Uses Cerner charting system
- 13-26 week assignment length, flexible
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- ACLS and BLS certification required
- ARRT-R or CCI RCIS certification required (ARRT-R preferred); license required if applicable
- AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI cards not accepted
- Active Illinois license required at time of submission
- Cerner charting experience required
- Experience in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab settings required
- Proficiency in cardiac implant closure device, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations (adult), IABP placement/removal, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy required
- Skilled in equipment setup, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, room circulating, and sterile field scrubbing required
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE required
- Must work with middle and older adult patient populations

- Facility is a Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated hospital
- Scrubs provided
- Free parking with permit obtained during orientation
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
- Previous perm or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO ideally no more than 5 days
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
