Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring a NC or compact RN license and 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience.
Details
- MS/Tele unit within a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- 13-week assignment length
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope to like units or sister campus depending on booking
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand - pending license not accepted
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- At least 1 supervisor reference required
Additional Information
- Advanced EKG exam required as part of compliance for this specialty
- Non-billable modules (4-10 hours) must be completed prior to start
- Scrub colors are royal blue and white
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be eligible for travel pay rate
- Returning staff must have been gone for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
- Contract extensions limited to twice for night shift, then must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler
- RTO is generally limited to a maximum of 4 days and approval is at the manager's discretion
- Only 1 holiday can be approved for time off during the assignment
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
