Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring a NC or compact RN license and 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 13-week assignment length
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister campus depending on booking
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand - pending license not accepted
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• At least 1 supervisor reference required

Additional Information

• Advanced EKG exam required as part of compliance for this specialty
• Non-billable modules (4-10 hours) must be completed prior to start
• Scrub colors are royal blue and white
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be eligible for travel pay rate
• Returning staff must have been gone for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
• Contract extensions limited to twice for night shift, then must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler
• RTO is generally limited to a maximum of 4 days and approval is at the manager's discretion
• Only 1 holiday can be approved for time off during the assignment
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
