Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a compact or MD RN license and prior ED triage experience in a high-volume setting
Details
- Work in a general Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- 13-week contract on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Cardiac monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Uses Cerner EMR
- Requires triage experience
- Must work every other weekend and every other holiday
- Floating within skillset required
Requirements
- Active compact RN license or MD RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience within the last 7 years
- Within the past 8 months, must have worked in an ED with at least 45,600 visits per year (125/day)
- Prior travel nursing assignment experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response duties
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate
- Candidates with prior MedStar employment must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Community hospital experience and previous charge experience are preferred but not required
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
