Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit position requiring prior travel experience and a 1:6 patient ratio.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit of a hospital environment
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX State or Compact) currently in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, medication administration, and management of cardiac drips (no titration)
• Experience in non-invasive airway management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to medical surgical and telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and respiratory management
• Not accepting candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to consideration, with no more than 3 days typically approved and no time off allowed during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
