Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an Inpatient Rehab unit, requiring 2+ years of experience and prior travel experience.
Details
- Inpatient rehabilitation unit setting
- Day shift schedule, Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- 13-week assignment length
- Adult patient population with diverse rehabilitation needs
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Cerner charting system required
- Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital and within their scope of practice
Requirements
- Current Maryland or Compact OT license required (if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Prior travel experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Experience with prosthetics/orthotics including above and below knee prosthetics preferred
- Experience with dynamic and functional splints preferred
- Skilled in adaptive equipment assessment, wheelchair evaluation, and home assessments preferred
- Experience with CVA rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, TBI, amputee, and neurological conditions preferred
- Proficiency in modalities such as electrical stimulation, TENS, ultrasound, and myofascial release preferred
- Two supervisor references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive OT services including evaluations, assessments, plans of care, reassessments, and discharge planning
- Utilize functional independence measure (FIM) and cognitive assessment tools
- Deliver patient and family education including home exercise programs and safety/injury prevention
- Support community re-entry and activities of daily living for adult rehab patients
- Facility is tobacco-free and candidates must be nicotine-free; a positive nicotine screen will result in cancellation
- Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year prior to consideration
- No mile radius rule for this position
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Compliance modules average 4-6 hours and are completed during orientation and annually via WorkDay
