Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an Inpatient Rehab unit, requiring 2+ years of experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Inpatient rehabilitation unit setting
• Day shift schedule, Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Adult patient population with diverse rehabilitation needs
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Cerner charting system required
• Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital and within their scope of practice

Requirements

• Current Maryland or Compact OT license required (if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Prior travel experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with prosthetics/orthotics including above and below knee prosthetics preferred
• Experience with dynamic and functional splints preferred
• Skilled in adaptive equipment assessment, wheelchair evaluation, and home assessments preferred
• Experience with CVA rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, TBI, amputee, and neurological conditions preferred
• Proficiency in modalities such as electrical stimulation, TENS, ultrasound, and myofascial release preferred
• Two supervisor references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive OT services including evaluations, assessments, plans of care, reassessments, and discharge planning
• Utilize functional independence measure (FIM) and cognitive assessment tools
• Deliver patient and family education including home exercise programs and safety/injury prevention
• Support community re-entry and activities of daily living for adult rehab patients
• Facility is tobacco-free and candidates must be nicotine-free; a positive nicotine screen will result in cancellation
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year prior to consideration
• No mile radius rule for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Compliance modules average 4-6 hours and are completed during orientation and annually via WorkDay
