Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a NICU position requiring 1+ years of experience across NICU, adult ICU, ED, and floor therapy at a community hospital.

Details

• Work in critical care areas including NICU, adult ICU, ED, and basic floor therapy at a community hospital
• 12-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in NICU, adult ICU, ED, and floor respiratory therapy
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT
• License required if applicable
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Skilled in airway management including intubation/extubation assist, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric procedures including high-risk delivery assistance and umbilical blood gases
• Proficiency in ABG interpretation and basic EKG
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across multiple critical care units including NICU, pediatric critical care, adult critical care, and emergency department
• Administer a variety of medications and treatments including nebulizers, MDIs, and inhaled steroids
• Perform oxygen therapy including high flow nasal cannula and manage airway/suctioning needs
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric respiratory procedures
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period
• Full compliance required to start on time to avoid scheduling delays
