Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a pediatric ED skillset and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Main Emergency Department setting treating a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Maintains a 1:4 patient ratio across days, nights, and weekends
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic charting experience preferred but other EMR experience accepted
Requirements
- Active RN license (AZ or Compact) required in hand to be considered
- Minimum 3 years of ED experience required
- Pediatric ED skillset required, with strong preference for dedicated PEDS ED experience (strong PEDS experience in a mixed ED setting is acceptable)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, PCAR
- Required skills: management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration, CPAP/BiPAP management, care of ventilated patients, isolation precautions/PPE, triage, and pediatric skillset
- Preferred skills: Level I Trauma Center experience, arterial line management, central line care/management, neurological care, ortho-trauma, head injury, near drowning, spinal cord injury, ABG interpretation, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation care
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a fast-paced ED environment
- Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility, as local candidates within this radius are not accepted
- Blackout dates for RTO include 9/4-9/7 and 10/29-10/31
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
