Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and MO or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the Telemetry unit of a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital that is a Level I Trauma Center
- Cardiac telemetry and step-down patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within service line
- Uses Epic charting system
- Utilizes EKG monitoring and cardiac drip management
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required (pending IL license accepted for IL submissions)
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
- EKG interpretation and cardiac drip management skills required
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and step-down level nursing care
- Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV therapy, central and peripheral lines, and respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula
- Navy blue scrubs required
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
- Must reside outside of a 75-mile radius as local candidates are not accepted
- Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Former permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
