Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring at least 1 year of MS/Tele/PCU experience and a GA or Compact RN license.

Details

  • Float pool position covering MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the hospital
  • Adult to geriatric patient population with diagnoses across MS, MS/Tele, and PCU
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5 for PCU and 1:5-6 for MS/MS Tele
  • Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools
  • Required to work every other weekend, averaging 6 weekends within a 13-week contract
  • Floating required to all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, and peripheral line management required
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
  • Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management required
  • Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE required
  • Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry and stepdown-level nursing care across multiple float units within the hospital
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized at time of consideration
  • Holiday coverage required for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment, no holiday time off can be requested
  • If three major holidays fall within the assignment, one holiday time off request may be considered
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Travelers who cancel or receive a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
