Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a community hospital requiring CNOR-level surgical experience across multiple specialties and a MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Community hospital setting within the Operating Room department
- Small critical access hospital performing approximately 100 low-acuity cases per month, including 1-2 C-sections monthly
- Day shift schedule of 5x8 hours (7:00 AM-3:30 PM), with potential flexibility to 4x10 hour shifts depending on OR schedule
- Weekend coverage required approximately once every three weeks (Fri-Sun)
- On-call responsibilities of approximately 10 shifts per month, scheduled in pairs, with a minimum 1-hour callback time
- Floating required across Circulate, PACU, and Pre/Post Op areas; not stationed in one area consistently
- Uses Meditech EMR
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS; CNOR preferred
- Minimum 3 years of OR experience required, including Circulate, PACU, and Pre/Post Op experience
- Community hospital experience required
- Experience required across multiple surgical specialties: Endoscopic, General Surgery, Gynecology (including C-sections), Orthopedic, Podiatry, Urology, and Pediatric ENT and Endoscopic procedures
- ENT experience (tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy) preferred
- Proficiency required in emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia
- Experience required with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and Steris equipment
- Proficient in professional nursing skills including blood product administration, cardiac monitoring, conscious sedation monitoring, infection control, specimen handling, peripheral IV insertion, Universal Protocol time-out procedures, urinary catheterization, and wound management
- One professional reference required

- Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, podiatry, urology, and pediatric procedures
- Unit scrub color is blue
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- No radius restriction in place
