Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and CNMT or NMTCB certification.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting in the Nuclear Medicine department
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• May float within scope to other facilities based on need
• Performs nuclear cardiology procedures including SPECT imaging, myocardial perfusion studies, and stress testing (pharmacological, exercise/rest)
• Conducts bone, brain, liver, renal, and lung scans
• Performs thyroid studies, gastric emptying studies, HIDA scans, and MUGA scans
• Uses Siemens equipment and Spectrum DSpect
• Utilizes Cerner EMR system

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• BLS and CNMT or NMTCB certification required
• ARRT(N) certification accepted as an alternative to CNMT or NMTCB
• IN state license required if applicable, must be in hand prior to start date
• Community hospital experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Proficiency in drawing venous blood, starting and maintaining IVs
• Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and radioactive material handling/storage/disposal
• Experience with adenosine and Persantine infusion, exercise/rest stress protocols
• Two supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved, additional time requires facility approval
• Floating is required and may include the primary hospital or nearby affiliate facilities
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Free parking available
• Any current or former IU Health perm or PRN employee must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility, 90 days for out-of-state residents or 180 days for in-state residents
