Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a teaching hospital, requiring 3+ years of OR experience and prior travel assignment experience.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of a teaching hospital
- Handles a wide range of surgical specialties including OHNS, craniotomy, oral and maxillofacial surgery, plastics, dental surgery, combined neurosurgery/OHNS, and free flap reconstructive procedures
- Additional specialty exposure may include vascular, neuro, spine, liver transplant, and kidney transplant cases
- Uses the Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system
- Epic EMR experience required
- Day shift schedule with 8-hour shifts, starting at either 7:00 AM or 11:00 AM, 5 days per week
- Ability to float to other facilities within the health system
Requirements
- Active CA RN license in hand required
- BSN required
- AHA BLS certification required
- CNOR and ACLS certifications preferred
- Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
- Previous travel assignment experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Scrub and circulate skills required
- Epic charting system experience required
- 1:1 patient ratio experience
Additional Information
- Perform scrub and circulating duties across a broad range of surgical specialties
- May be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius during the assignment if qualified
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel positions
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed for a rehire eligibility check
- Two references from the most recent employer required for consideration
- Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit
- RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager; no mid-contract RTO requests accepted
- RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment
