Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 3+ years of acute, trauma, ED, and critical care experience for a night shift position requiring the ability to work independently in a critical access hospital.

Details

  • Critical access hospital setting within a community hospital system
  • Respiratory therapy department covering acute, trauma, ED, and critical care patients
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
  • Block scheduling
  • Weekend work required at minimum every other weekend, with more possible based on operational need
  • Floating required to all 4 campus locations: Bend, Redmond, Prineville, and Madras
  • On-call is voluntary, not required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Adult critical care and emergency department skills required
  • NICU and pediatric critical care experience highly preferred

Requirements

  • RRT certification required (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Prior travel assignment experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must be able to work independently in a critical access hospital setting
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, RRT
  • Pending license accepted

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
  • Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • RTO restrictions limited to 7 days
  • Responsibilities include ventilator management, weaning from mechanical ventilation, and airway management
  • Skilled in arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
  • Experience with medication delivery systems including MDIs, nebulizers, and aerosol setups
  • Care for patients with conditions such as ARDS, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and pneumonia
  • Neonatal/pediatric equipment experience including CPAP, oscillating ventilators, and high-risk delivery assistance preferred
  • Patient transport experience including inter-departmental and ambulance transport
