Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring interventional cardiac catheterization experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, including pre/post procedure and special procedures areas
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Uses Epic charting system
• Call required every 3rd week
• Float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) required at time of consideration, no pending licenses accepted
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab and interventional cardiac catheterization experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in Activated Clotting Time (ACT) monitoring, infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, procedural sedation monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG, radiation and laser safety, and vascular studies/procedures
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, left heart catheterization, and PCI
• Experience administering and monitoring medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, reversal agents, thrombolytics, and IV therapy
• Two supervisory references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a cardiac catheterization lab setting, supporting diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local rate; those outside this radius qualify for the travel rate
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with no time off requested during the first two weeks of the assignment or full calendar weeks off during the assignment
• All RTO must be approved and documented prior to the start of the assignment
• Some holiday coverage is expected
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 5 years to be eligible to apply as a traveler
