Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Float position requiring 2 years of experience and a SC or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Medical Surgical Float unit (6 South) of a hospital environment
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 18:45 to 7:15
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required to other Med/Surg units, including a resource pool covering 5 Med/Surg and 4 Telemetry units
- No on-call responsibilities mentioned
Requirements
- Active RN license (SC or compact) currently in hand or pending, with proof of application prior to start
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care required
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and emergency response required
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care within a Medical Surgical float pool, floating between multiple Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed
- Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Staff RNs previously employed at the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of submittal
- Pre-start online learning modules are required and average 2 hours to complete
