Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient position requiring 1+ years of experience in a Critical Access Hospital setting.
Details
- Critical Access Hospital offering outpatient and inpatient services, home visits, and a swing bed program in a rural community
- Work across acute, outpatient, and/or long-term care settings
- Day shift schedule with availability for 4x10 or 5x8 hour shifts
- Weekly hours may vary from 34-40 hours depending on census or caseload
- Every 3rd weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- No floating to sister facilities required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist required
- BLS certification required
- License required if applicable
- Experience with acute care, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, and skilled nursing facility settings
- Skilled in assessment, body mechanics, AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain assessment, strength testing, and vital sign monitoring
- Experience treating orthopedic conditions including cervicalgia, low back pain, post-op cervical/shoulder/spinal surgery, spinal conditions, and total hip/knee replacements
- Experience with neurologic conditions including post-stroke rehabilitation preferred
- Proficient in home exercise program development and patient/family education
- Experience with wound/ulcer assessment and simple dressing changes
- Familiarity with equipment such as gait belts, hospital/specialty beds, bed alarms, and call lights
Additional Information
- Responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore independence
- Collaborates with providers and care teams across multiple care settings
- Patient population includes geriatric, orthopedic, and cardiopulmonary/circulatory cases
- Modalities used may include TENS, ultrasound, cryotherapy, and moist heat
- Documentation responsibilities include evaluations, reassessments, discharge planning, and short/long term goal setting
- Open to first-time travelers with at least 1 year of experience
- Local candidates accepted
- No RTO restrictions
- Facility may accommodate block scheduling
