Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with required cardiac catheterization lab experience for a cardiac cath/special procedures unit.

Details

• Work in the Cardiac Cath/Special Procedures unit
• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, electrophysiology devices, peripheral vascular, neuro interventional, and interventional radiology procedures
• Night shift schedule of 4x10s from 6:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 20-week contract length
• Call rotation for weekends and holidays
• May be required to float to all areas of the department including Prep and Recovery

Requirements

• Cath Lab experience required
• Neuro Interventional, IR, and EP experience is a plus
• Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology required
• IEMA Radiography License (Illinois) required if applicable
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ARRT(R) registration required
• Manual dexterity to handle small supplies
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, and complete detailed work accurately

Additional Information

• Administer contrast material via existing IV line or venipuncture and recognize/respond to hypersensitivity reactions
• Circulate, scrub, and/or monitor cardiac cath, neuro interventional, peripheral vascular, structural, IR, and EP device procedures including Watchman cases
• Utilize adjunctive tools such as IVUS, FFR/iFR, Lithotripsy, Impella, IABP, OCT, Rotarex, HawkOne, Penumbra, EKOS, and Inari
• Perform procedures including left/right heart catheterization, PCI, pericardiocentesis, coronary angiogram, temporary pacemaker insertion, EVAR, cerebral angiogram, aneurysm treatment with flow diverters and coils, and STEMI/stroke intervention
• Achieve hemostasis at vascular access sites and monitor patients for complications
• Verify successful image transfer to PACS and troubleshoot basic PACS issues
• Follow ALARA principles to maintain staff and patient safety during invasive procedures
• Expected to take call independently within 6 months
• May assist in training new staff
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
