Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a skilled nursing/long-term care rehab setting, requiring a PT license and offering opportunities for new grads and experienced clinicians alike.

Details

  • Inpatient rehab setting within a skilled nursing and long-term care facility
  • Unit focuses on PT services within SNF/LTC
  • Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm with occasional weekend coverage as needed
  • Shift lengths of 8 or 10 hours
  • Uses Allscripts as the electronic medical record system
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply
  • Doctorate or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Maine State Physical Therapy licensure required, or Authorization to Test (ATT) letter from the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy if awaiting licensure
  • License required if applicable
  • Skilled nursing or rehab experience preferred but not required
  • Must pass Maine Background Criminal Check (MBCC) and Maine Adult Protective Services Background Check

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include performing initial and ongoing patient assessments and implementing individualized treatment plans
  • Documents subjective, objective, and assessment findings to track patient progress
  • Educates and counsels patients and families/caregivers on treatment and adaptive equipment
  • Plans and assists with patient discharge from therapy services
  • Supervises and delegates care provided by physical therapy assistants in accordance with state licensing laws and practice standards
  • Doctoral graduates without licensure must obtain a Supervisory Agreement Letter signed by a supervising MaineGeneral Physical Therapist until licensed
  • Doctoral graduates must obtain Maine State Physical Therapy licensure within 60 days of test date
  • Cancellation policy allows up to 2 shifts for assignments under 13 weeks
  • Open to first-time travelers and new graduates
